DESCRIPTION Be able to utilise the knowledge and skills obtained from the attachments and tutorials to practical area within the area of strategy and sustainability division. Each of the students will be assigned with a designate specialist within the area and a priority area will be identified. The student will be assisted to define the priority area and develop a project, report, guidelines, policy or risk assessment according the particular area. This will enable the student to apply the skills acquired to a practical area.

Study-unit Aims

Have a good understanding and develop the skills to apply the knowledge gained within the competency of the Strategy and Sustainability Division to a practical project.

Learning Outcomes

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will have active knowledge and competency of the following:
- the set up and direct the Strategy and Sustainability Division and how the pertinent functions of the directorates work within the Division;
- understand the ongoing process of consultation with stakeholders and promote user involvement;
- develop skills how to gather, analyse and disseminate health information and carry out research;
- understand how to develop policy, co-ordinate strategic planning and put forward proposals that contribute to the sustainability of public health and health care services;
- understand how to monitor the implementation of policies, strategic plans, programmes, services and initiatives adopted by the Ministry;
- have skills how to co-ordinate and prepare reports identifying issues, problems, unmet needs and service gaps, and recommend initiatives, review of policies, and amendments to procedures and programmes as required;
- gain skills how to develop pharmaceutical policies and procedures and carry out related audits;
- have basic knowledge about the co-ordination and promotion of EU and International relations.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to apply the knowledge gained to practical skills in a specific problem or area.
