Professor Emilia Kolarova is a professor of music at the National Academy of Music, Sofia, where she teaches courses in the history of music with special focus on the history of Bulgarian music. She is also the Vice Dean of the Theoretical-Composition and Conducting Faculty. Professor Kolarova is the author of various articles and produced several documentaries and books on the correlation between the national and universal, the global and local, the traditional and contemporary in Bulgarian musical compositions. She participated in musicology seminars and forums held in Russia, Gran Canaria, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Romania, Luxemburg, Japan and Australia. Professor Kolarova is a scriptwriter for the National TV Channel 1 weekly broadcast 'BNT Music'.
