Dr Gabriele Deidda from the Department of Physiology & Biochemistry, who specialises in Neuroscience research, is presenting an eclectic art collection titled ‘NeuroArt: The Beauty of the Brain’.
The exhibition, part-supported by the Arts Council Malta through the CSAI Foundation, is exposed at the ArtGallery 111 Art Studio in Ta’ Xbiex.
His work communicates through neuroscientific images, the beauty of the brain by planting into the observer’s mind the seed of neuroscientific knowledge through a metaphoric artwork mirroring brain functions.
Using techniques such as immunohisto-chemistry to label brain structures, and laser confocal microscopy to microphotograph parts of the brain, producing detailed and compelling imagery.
It has previously won him the 2014 EU prize in the Art of Neuroscience Competition.
