Professor Frank Camilleri has recently returned from a week-long filming of actor training processes at the University of Kent (UK). The project, entitled 'Physical Actor Training – an A-Z', is to make short films and companion commentaries—some digitally enhanced and animated—for Methuen Drama Online, which will be published in 2018.
This prestigious research project, funded by The Leverhulme Trust, is led by Professor Paul Allain of the Drama and Theatre Department at the University of Kent. The project consists of video clips of training exercises and strategies for physical acting and is designed and presented by Allain and Camilleri in a workshop situation with six participants. The filmmakers on the project are Peter Hulton (of Arts Archive) and Stacie Lee Bennett. The second phase of the filming will take place in Canterbury in January 2017.
