Prof Michael Briguglio is Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts, at the University of Malta.

Briguglio coordinates the Masters degree in Social Impact Assessment at the University of Malta. He occupies the positions of Associate Editor of the International Social Science Journal (Wiley); Editorial Board Member, SAGE Open Sociology, and Review Editor in Urban Ecology, Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution.

Michael Briguglio is the Science Communication Coordinator of EU COST Action CA22122 Rethinking the Blue Economy: Socio-Ecological Impacts and Opportunities- (RethinkBlue). He is also a member of the Action's Core Group and is representing Malta in its management committee.

He is a founding member of the Malta Sociological Association where he currently serves as Public Relations Officer, and he is a convenor of the Works in Progress Seminar Series at the Faculty of Arts, University of Malta.

Briguglio also hosts ‘One to One’, a current affairs discussion programme on Campus 103.7.
