EyeCon aims to develop a practical eye movement-based human-computer interface (HCI) system based on electrooculography (EOG). EOG is an eye movement recording technique, which captures the electrical activity of the human eyes using electrodes attached to the face in close proximity of the eyes. The EyeCon project aims to address practical issues related to the use of EOG-based systems, particularly to fuse head pose information and develop head movement compensation algorithms, to allow the user to interact with an eye movement-based assistive application naturally and without restrictions. This project is being carried out in collaboration between the University of Malta and 88.eu.
