UM LEVEL 03 - Years 2, 3, 4 in Modular Undergraduate Course

MQF LEVEL 6

ECTS CREDITS 4

DEPARTMENT Art and Art History

DESCRIPTION This practice-based study-unit focuses on the study of the human as a figure subjected to the gaze of ‘another’ and the many ways artists react to, and interpret, the human form.

The study-unit also aims to provide a deeper critical appreciation of the conditions that have shaped the discussion around artistic production in the age of the anthropocene.

Through an extended engagement with the context of artistic production and interpretation students reflect their own relationship with the human figure and the politics of identity, gender, sex and the influences or interferences of the non-human.

Study-Unit Aims:

This study-unit aims to further the students knowledge of human form and the debates and imaginaries surrounding bodies and identities.
