DESCRIPTION | Content Students are assigned to particular projects after they themselves indicate their own preferences. Students are expected to consult with the various tutors prior to taking a decision regarding project preference. The final decision concerning assignment to a particular project rests solely with the department. The project will generally involve laboratory work under the guidance of the supervisor, and the writing of a dissertation. Joint projects involving not more than two students may be allowed. Areas of study The department is currently offering projects in the following areas of study: - Studies in Polymers, Colloids and Interfaces - Studies in Environmental Chemistry - Analytical Chemistry - Organic Photochemistry - Synthesis of Ion-pair Complexes - Molecular Modelling - Chemistry of Protein Solutions or Applied Chemistry in the Pharmaceutical Industry |

ADDITIONAL NOTES | **September Assessment Session: Students who fail to obtain an overall pass mark will be re-examined in the Dissertation. However, the resit availability for the Presentation and Oral Examination is at the discretion of the Board of Examiners. |
