DESCRIPTION | This study-unit will provide a comprehensive overview of the basic theory and practice of negotiation. This will include examining both formal and informal negotiation practices and processes. Particular attention will be given to identifying national interests as opposed to strategic positions in negotiation scenarios. Utilising a series of simulation exercises the course will allow the students to put into practice theoretical frameworks of analysis thus identifying the key skills and strategies required for successful negotiation in conflict situations. The simulation and part of the course focuses on the Eastern Mediterranean and the ongoing negotiations, official and unofficial, to prevent escalation. List of Required Text Books See syllabus |
