DESCRIPTION | This study-unit will provide a theoretical review of the concept of security, including an analysis of security risks and threats in contemporary international relations. This will include identifying the main national and transnational security priorities that the state is seeking to address at a global and regional level. Sectors that will be examined include hard and soft security issues such as military procurement, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, human trafficking, environmental degradation and energy security.
