The unit will explore topical concerns in education through a literature review, advanced research methodology, appropriate data collection and substantive empirical work, analysis of results, discussion and the generation of theory. The length of a written dissertation should normally be not less than 30,000 but not more than 35,000 words.

Study-Unit Aims:

- To prepare researchers who can make use of appropriate advanced research methods to explore and analyze a specific research area of topical interest in an area of education;
- To prepare researchers who can achieve a synthesis of theoretical and substantive, empirical and educational concerns in their research;
