DESCRIPTION This unit is a continuation of German B1.1. The aims are to have a sufficient range of language to describe unpredictable situations, explain the main points of an idea or problem with a higher level of precision and express thoughts on abstract and cultural topics.

At the end of this study-unit, the participants will have improved their listening skills relating to regularly encountered issues in work, school, leisure, etc. They can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in German-speaking countries. They can produce simple coherent texts mainly on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.

Study-unit Aims:

The study-unit is designed to deepen and improve students' language skills at intermediate level two.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- demonstrate a deeper understanding of correct German language use;
- actively use a wider vocabulary and more complex sentence structures.

2. Skills:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- express him/herself more fluently in German;
- use German more effectively in everyday-life as well as increasingly more specific contexts.
