DESCRIPTION | In this study-unit the four basic skills (reading, listening, writing and speaking) are developed further using topics and themes related not only to everyday life, but also to technical matters. The chosen topics and themes shall give rise to discussions, during which students can learn how to express an opinion outlining advantages and disadvantages of a chosen topic. Study-unit Aims: The aims of this study-unit are: - to provide students with more complex language skills to be able to express themselves clearly; - to provide students with a wider range of vocabulary on general topics; - to train students in understanding more complex texts in German; - to train students to produce texts in German and express their viewpoint on an issue. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - understand the main ideas of complex texts on concrete topics; - follow a professional conversation in German related to various sectors. 2. Skills By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - have a good command of the grammatical rules; - write detailed texts on a wide range of subjects; - interact with native speakers without strain; - express a viewpoint on an issue and give reasons for this point of view.
