| DESCRIPTION | Starting from reading various texts, writing German texts will be practised in this study-unit. The study-unit will focus on building up a wider vocabulary as well as on stylistic issues. Topics might include verbal versus nominal style, figures of speech and phrases, noun-verb-combinations etc. Students will be encouraged to use more complex sentence structures in their own writing. Lesen und Schreiben Auf der Basis der Lektüre verschiedener Texte wird die Produktion von eigenen Texten eingeübt. Hierbei wird verstärkt auf den Aufbau des Wortschatzes und die Stilistik eingegangen. Themen könnten zum Beispiel Verbal- und Nominalstil oder auch Redewendungen und Nomen-Verb-Verbindungen sein. Die Studierenden werden angeleitet, auch komplexere Satzstrukturen anzuwenden. Study-unit Aims: This study-unit aims to: - consolidate the students' reading skills of German texts; - build up a wider vocabulary; - target stylistic issues of German; - practice writing different longer texts sorts in German. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - comprehend longer and more complex texts in German; - identify and understand advanced stylistic issues of German; - comprehend a broader vocabulary of German. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - write different texts in German; - make use of a wider vocabulary; - read complex German texts from different areas; - express himself/herself better in German.
