| DESCRIPTION | The objective of this study-unit is to introduce students to an in-depth analysis of the morphology of the Italian language. Starting with a definition and an overview of this field of study, the study-unit will then go on to discuss grammar as a set of principles governing a language. Adhering to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, it will aim to develop grammatical competence through a description of elements, categories, classes and relations. Focus will be placed particularly on articles, nouns and adjectives, during the first part of the study-unit. Pronouns and verbs will be the topics discussed in more detail during the second part of the study-unit. The study-unit will also aim to consolidate the orthographical and lexical skills of students. Multimedia will be used as a tool to harmonize theoretical discussion and analysis of contemporary Italian texts.
