DESCRIPTION This study-unit is an advanced course on the Italian language and Italian civilization. It combines grammar, vocabulary and communication skills studied in real life situations and it is designed for students to master their communication skills in fluency and proficiency even when dealing with unfamiliar topics.

Study-unit Aims:

- To enable students to use a rich vocabulary and to enhance and consolidate the use of complex sentence structures;
- To improve the students’ skills in spoken and written Italian;
- To improve reading and listening comprehension skills;
- To create an awareness of complex topics of Italian civilization and culture.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- understand a wide range of complex texts, including stylistic nuances;
- express themselves fluently;
- use language effectively and fluently in a social, professional or academic context;
- speak in a clear, organized way about complex topics, developing well-structured arguments.

2. Skills:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- make use of various terminologies and complex language structures;
- understand and discuss topics related to Italian civilization and culture.
