DESCRIPTION | This training course has been designed to provide students with general awareness and basic understanding of insurance operations and the relevant working environment. It will delve into the fundamentals of insurance, equipping the participant with essential knowledge to understand the world of insurance. The programme consists of broad knowledge in insurance principles, practice and products such as motor, travel, health, life and liability insurance. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: 1. Apply insurance concepts, products, principles, and practice together with the corresponding benefits of insurance. 2. Appraise the various insurance types, including motor, travel, health, life, and liability insurance. 3. Define the technical jargon used in the business of insurance. 4. Distinguish between different market players, policies and practices. 5. Interpret the regulatory framework governing insurance businesses, ensuring awareness of the corresponding rights and obligations of various stakeholders. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: 1. Recognise insurance-related documents and Appraise discussions. 2. Critically analyse insurance policies, comparing coverage options, terms, and conditions to select the most suitable plans for the clients’ needs. 3. Evaluate the value and relevance of different risks and associated insurance coverages in various life situations. 4. Apply the ethical and regulatory considerations within the insurance industry.
