DESCRIPTION | The study unit builds on LIN2070. The vocabulary is extended and more work is done on conversations requiring the use of sign language grammar e.g. classifiers. The student learn to understand signers over longer conversations than single utterances and to converse at greater length. They should also understand stories told in Maltese Sign Language. Study-unit Aims: The student should be able to converse at length with native Maltese signers and to understand signers who discuss themes at length. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: A knowledge of vocabulary beyond the basic, a knowledge of the way phrases and utterances are built using the grammar of Maltese Sign Language. An understanding of native signers conversing at length. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: Converse with confidence with native Maltese signers.
