DESCRIPTION Din it-taqsima hija maħsuba għal min diġà għandu ħakma ħafifa tal-ilsien Malti. Dawk li jidħlu għaliha jitgħallmu jużaw il-Malti biex jikkomunikaw f’diversi sitwazzjonijiet li jiltaqgħu magħhom fil-ħajja ta’ kuljum; ngħidu aħna biex jesprimu l-bżonnijiet bażiċi u l-gosti tagħhom, jibbukkjaw mejda f’ristorant u jagħmlu appuntament, jistaqsu għad-direzzjonijiet, jikkomunikaw fil-ħwienet u mkejjen pubbliċi oħra, jitkellmu dwarhom infushom, il-familja tagħhom u l-attivitajiet li jagħmlu matul il-ġurnata. It-taqsima tfasslet fuq il-prinċipji tal-Qafas Ewropew Komuni ta’ Referenza għall-Ilsna tal-Kunsill tal-Ewropa (CEFR). L-istudenti li jtemmu t-taqsima b’suċċess jistgħu jitqiesu li laħqu l-Livell Bażiku A1 tas-CEFR.

This study-unit is designed for students who already have some knowledge of Maltese. Participants will learn how to communicate in Maltese in various situations in daily life, such as expressing basic needs and preferences, booking a table at a restaurant and making an appointment, asking for directions, communicating in shops and other public spaces and talking about themselves, their family and their daily activities. The unit is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe (CEFR). Hence, on completion of MAL0012, successful students may be considered to have achieved the Basic Level A1 of the CEFR.

Mitlub/Pre-requisite: Normalment MAL0011* / Normally MAL0011**

* Normalment, l-istudenti jridu jkunu temmew MAL0011 b’suċċess qabel ma jibdew MAL0012. Iżda l-istudenti jistgħu jiġu eżentati minn dan jekk, fil-fehma tad-Dipartiment tal-Malti, ikunu jafu biżżejjed Malti biex isegwu MAL0012 bi profitt.

** Normally, a pass in MAL0011 is needed for a student to be admitted to MAL0012, but the Department of Maltese may exempt a student from the prerequisite if in its opinion the student knows enough Maltese to be able to follow MAL0012 profitably.
