DESCRIPTION | Study-unit Aims: The study-unit offers a conceptual foundation and practical approach to developing successful social media marketing strategies for organisations ranging from corporates to NGOs. The study-unit also provides students with a solid grounding in social media marketing, focusing on both theory and applications. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: The topics covered are: 1. Introduction, Goals and Strategies 2. Identifying Target Audiences 3. Rules of Engagement for Social Media 4. Publishing Blogs 5. Publishing Podcasts & Webinars 6. Sharing Videos, Sharing Photos and Images 7. Social Networks 8. Micro blogging 9. Content Marketing 10. Social media monitoring 11. Developing a strategic plan for social media The study-unit also provides online access to a database of relevant posts, reports and case studies relating to YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. 2. Skills: Students will acquire the skills to implement a step by step social media strategic plan. The study unit also provides students with a cumulative learning experience and the critical ability to construct social media strategies that achieve desired marketing goals.
