DESCRIPTION (a) The main objective of this study-unit is to present the main elements of the spiritual life and the main aspects of Christian Prayer.

(b) The study-unit starts off with a basic definition of the spiritual life, passing on to highlight the essential role of the Holy Spirit within the dynamic of this life. The relation between grace and nature, the place of the theological virtues and the spiritual life seen, particularly, as journey are studied. The second part of the study-unit deals with prayer, beginning with the prayer as understood in the Old Testament and then in the New Testament, with special reference to Jesus Christ. The main elements of the Christian prayer are then presented.
