DESCRIPTION | This study-unit provides the opportunity for students to revise what they have learned throughout the three year course. They will have the possibility to take a general view of the principal subjects studied throughout the degree course. Therefore, these seminars will display and explain the relationship shared by the different study areas covered during their course. Study-unit Aims: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: a. prepare to sit for Paper 1 of the synoptic examination; b. better express what he has learned throughout his degree course; c. answer the synoptic questions. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: a. attain an integrated view of the study areas covered during the course; b. understand the different musical genres as a sociocultural phenomenon; c. understand the similarity in content, order and statement of the different musical styles. 2. Skills (including transferable [generic] skills): By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: a. demonstrate that he has acquired the tools of academic writing; b. give evidence that he is capable to make a critical review of related literature; c. relate interdisciplinary perspectives of the various areas in music studies. |
