DESCRIPTION | The study-unit will analyse the different categories of human rights and provide an understanding of the main rights within each category, the interplay and interdependence of rights and the different methods of implementation and enforcement used. Study-Unit Aims: The study-unit aims principally at analysing different categories of human rights, consider their interdependence and carry out a comparative analysis of the different methods of implementation and enforcement used. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Identify and recognise the importance of each category of rights and the notion of interdependence of rights; - Analyse the principles and concepts developed in the application of the main rights in these categories; - Undertake a comparative analyse of the different methods of enforcement of human rights. 2. Skills By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Prepare analytical assignments and work out case studies on rights falling within different categories of human rights.
