DESCRIPTION | Students can choose one of the following options: - Pharmaceutical Industry Internship Students are assigned a practical attachment to encompass activities of a pharmaceutical technologist in the field of pharmaceutical industry. - Community Internship Students are assigned for an attachment in a community pharmacy to experience the activities of a pharmaceutical technologist in the practical scenario. - Hospital Internship Students are assigned for a practical attachment to experience the activities of a pharmaceutical technologist within a hospital scenario. Students will, by the end of the three year programme, undertake an internship in all the three aspects through Internship I, II and III. Study-unit Aims To give students a practice-oriented approach in the field of pharmaceutical industry, community and hospital pharmacy. Learning Outcomes 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Gain work experience in the chosen setting 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Develop an approach to the role of a pharmaceutical technologist in either the pharmaceutical industry, community pharmacy and hospital pharmacy - Participate in project management in process development - Contribute to a team approach - Manage other personnel in the structure - Work within timeframes |
