DESCRIPTION This study-unit is based on both lectures and laboratory sessions.

Study-unit Aims:

This study-unit aims to prepare students to assess and treat patients with neurological conditions through role play and simulation. They will learn manual techniques and draw on researched evidence to compile and implement treatment plans that are measurable in outcome.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Demonstrate a knowledge of neuropathology;
- Demonstrate the clinical reasoning skills and the handling techniques required to assess a neurological patient;
- Demonstrate the ability to formulate an effective, efficient and safe treatment plan using the above information; and
- Demonstrate the clinical reasoning skills and the handling techniques required to treat a neurological patient and progress this treatment as necessary.

2. Skills
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Use the handling techniques required to assess and treat patients with neurological conditions.
