DESCRIPTION | Course in Spanish Language, Level 3. This unit is a continuation of Spanish Language 2. After this unit, a student will be able to describe in simple terms aspects of his/her past like talking of experiences and tell stories, as well as handle themselves in areas related to their immediate and daily needs. Study-unit Aims: The aim of this study-unit is to enable the student to cover the first part of two of the A2 or 'Elementary' level of competence in Spanish language on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as set out at http://www.coe.int/t/dg4/education/elp/elp-reg/Source/Key_reference/Overview_CEFRscales_EN.pdf Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment); - Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Talk about past actions; describe past experiences, people and places; - Tell stories in the past; - Recount past experiences and relate them to each other; - Assess activities and work; - Express different degrees of preference; - Express superlative qualities; - Talk about professional life; - Describe objects; - Talk about clothing and fashion; - Describe how one is feeling as regards health matters and maintain a simple conversation with a doctor; - Make a reservation in a hotel; - Make suggestions and recommendations; and - Relate elements and parts of speech.
