DESCRIPTION | This component feeds into the process of converting ‘raw’ data into critical-analytical sociological writing. Students will be taken through the steps of: taking stock of the data available and deciding on issues of sufficiency and saturation; identifying and evaluating the various perspectives on these data; identifying and putting into practice the data-analytical processes of coding and/or statistical techniques; linking the results to the contemporary literature; and writing up data into a coherent and sociologically-convincing finished piece. | ||||||||
