DESCRIPTION The stimulating academic endeavour of engaging oneself in an area of one's personal theological interest, and actually composing one's Masters' dissertation on this topic is the focus of this study-unit. After gathering and assimilating information on a specific theme, students integrate this material and organize it into a specified number of chapters. This is a methodological exercise, whereby students are formed to present their research in a proper scholarly way which is documented and constitutes a contribution to theological research.

Study-Unit Aims:

- Assisting students as they commence the research leading to the composition of a dissertation;
- To actively encourage the students and stimulate them in the endeavours concerning the composition of their dissertation.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- Explore practical hints which will be proposed, and share experiences of one's on-going endeavour in a particular field of study;
- Familiarise oneself with the methodology entailed in gathering material and writing the dissertation;
- Avoid certain pitfalls, and to deal in time with difficulties which may crop up in writing a dissertation.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- Write a Master's dissertation as the result of his/her Research Project.

ADDITIONAL NOTES **September Assessment Session: Students who fail to obtain an overall pass mark will be re-examined in the Dissertation. However, the resit availability for the Oral Examination is at the discretion of the Board of Examiners.
