DESCRIPTION | Students will develop further their knowledge and understanding of painting processes and techniques and the use of colour as an effective tool to communicate their visual concepts in contemporary architectural, artistic and design context. Study-Unit Aims: - Build upon previously acquired knowledge on different painting media and techniques; - Familiarise with colour relationships and notions of colour theory; - Encourage experimentation in visual presentation of concepts through colour. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Apply knowledge about different media and techniques used in painting; - Define colour relationships through the application of specific painting techniques; - Apply colour theory concepts for compositional purposes. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Select painting media based on desired artistic intentions; - Apply painting techniques for refined visual communication and presentation purposes in a contemporary artistic, architectural and design context.
