The M.Ed. Board of Studies is responsible for the administration and organisation of the courses leading to the Master of Education degree.
It is responsible for:
- the programmes of study for the different M.Ed. strands
- following and supporting students throughout their studies and:
- receives research proposals for dissertations and makes recommendations for acceptance/changes/rejection as required
- recommends appointment of supervisors and advisors
- receives and acts upon progress reports submitted by supervisors
- considers and makes recommendations to Faculty Board related to students’ requests for suspension of studies, extension of deadline for submission, extension of word limit and changes to the original dissertation proposal
- makes recommendations for the appointment of internal and external examiners for the examination of dissertations
- receives examiners’ individual reports and final reports following the viva voce examination
- compiles the results and classifies the degree to be awarded.
