Collaborative Lesson Study Malta (CLeStuM)

CLeStuM is a research project that started two years ago with the aim of supporting Maltese primary and secondary schools to the Lesson Study process. Lesson Study involves teacher-led research in which a group of teachers work together to plan, teach, observe and evaluate their lessons. This project is led by Dr James Calleja in collaboration with Dr Michelle Attard Tonna and Dr Michael Buhagiar. In our work, we visit schools to hold discussions with school leadership teams and teachers interested in lesson study. While we introduce schools to lesson study, we also provide ongoing support. We believe that support is crucial for teachers to understand the lesson study process and hence, to design, teach and evaluate their lessons. The support we offer includes face-to-face meetings and observations.

CLeStuM has a website that is full of information, resources and exemplars of lesson studies carried out in Maltese schools. We encourage anyone interested in Lesson Study to visit the website
