The International Conference on Seafloor Forms, Processes and Evolution will be organised by the University of Malta and the Submarine Geomorphology working group of the International Association of Geomorphologists, and will take place from 4 to 6 July 2022 in Valletta, Malta.
Objectives
The main objective of the conference is to stimulate a step change in the investigation of seafloor processes.
The specific objectives are to:
- Provide a forum for sharing the state-of-the-art in our knowledge of seafloor processes and their investigation
- Identify the key gaps in knowledge in our understanding of seafloor processes and devise a strategy to address them
- Bring together different stakeholders (e.g. scientists, students, industry professionals, government agencies) to promote communication and collaborative interactions
- Provide a platform from early career scientists to present their work and expand their networks.
Outputs
At the end of the conference we will develop a 6-month plan to compile:
a. A review paper
b. A coffee table book of seafloor landforms
Fees
The conference fee will be EUR 50 and will cover access to venues for oral and poster presentations, and two coffee breaks per day.
