Arts Faculty Day – Aspire to Inspire

In this third edition of the decennial Arts Faculty Day, all resident academics and administrative members of staff come together to celebrate the rich history of the Faculty, take stock of the achievements of the past decade, reflect on the present, and make plans for the future.

This year’s event is intended to help foster a sense of community within the Faculty, allowing us to get to know one another, while working together to future-proof our Faculty.

The event will feature a presentation of the results of a Faculty-wide graduate tracer study, and four hands-on parallel workshops that will allow us to discuss possible strategies and propose concrete action plans. Further details about each workshop can be found in the dedicated tab on this webpage. The day will also include a launch of the Faculty rebranding, as well as other initiatives designed to streamline day-to-day tasks and facilitate communication and cooperation within the Faculty.

We wish you an engaging and productive day ahead!

Get connected!

Message from the Dean

Colleagues, friends,

First of all, I thank the organising team — Amy, Marija, Simone, Niki, Claude, and Keith — for putting together this inspirational Faculty of Arts event. It promises to be useful, productive and pleasant. We are meeting to review our activities, recognise our successes, acknowledge our shortcomings where necessary, and move on. The Tracer Study will show us the level of success of our graduates once they are weaned from us and let loose in the toiling and competing world. The workshops and discussions arising therefrom should deliver us a clear picture of the ‘State-of-the-Faculty’ and a guide to the way forward. Beyond work and introspection, this is a congress of Faculty members, old and new, seasoned or fresh, getting to interact with and appreciate each other, renewing our community, one that each of us should be proud to be part of — the Humanities community, matchless in its breadth and depth of knowledge, creativity, and inspiration.
