Call for papers

The deadline for submitting an abstract is Friday 13 March 2023. Abstracts submitted after this date will not be considered. Your abstract submission should include:

- Author/s

- Proposed title 

- Abstract, a summary of not more than 400 words highlighting the problematique and main points of the presentation, excluding key references ( a brief selection, if necessary at this stage).

Once abstracts are accepted, with notification around 15 March 2023, they cannot be changed save for some grammatical error. Full texts sent after the conference will be published under the auspices of the UNESCO Chair in Global Adult Education and the Department of Arts, Open Communities and Adult Education, Faculty of Education, University of Malta, in the conference proceedings. Possibly some can also make it into Convergence. An International Adult Education Journal, the online journal now being produced under the auspices of the UNESCO Chair in Global Adult Education.

Abstracts with titles not exceeding 10 words and text not more than 400 words are to be submitted by 13 March 2023. They will be reviewed by the International Scientific Committee according to the following criteria:

  1. Appropriateness of topic to critical adult education and adult learning or education and learning in general are considered
  2. While adult education and learning are the main themes, abstracts on wider aspects of education and learning, comprising  initial ( including early childhood), Higher and community learning for all ages and educational and learning theories are also being considered There will be sessions in these areas.
  3. Clear research design if an empirical study, either Qualitative, Quantitative or both.
  4. Clear conceptual framework if a conceptual study.
