Department of Banking, Finance & Investments

About us

About us

The Department of Banking, Finance & Investments offers interesting and rewarding
undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Banking, Finance and Investments.
If you like trading, investments, cryptocurrencies, banks, finance and would start a journey
on a highly paid and rewarding career then look no further and choose Banking, Finance and Investments.

The courses we offer are very popular with the undergraduate and postgraduate students
because they offer a solid foundation for the students’ future careers in the Financial
Services Industry, namely Banking, Finance and Investments companies and related
government agencies.

The Financial Services industry represents around 12.5% of Malta’s GDP and is a sector
where wages, as per the regular labour Force Survey carried out by the National Statistics
Office, are amongst the highest for employees.

We update and improve our programmes in Banking, Finance and Investments year after
year to keep up with the latest industry developments and to make the courses as relevant
and as interesting as possible and to enable the students to be job-ready.

The students can opt to choose Banking, Finance and Investments as one of the majors
while doing the 3-year full-time Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). The students can then
follow up with the MA in Banking, Finance and Investments which is a 1.5-year full-time
programme (taught over 2 afternoons per week).

The students can easily find part-time employment opportunities in firms within the
industry while studying to complement their university teaching with practice within the
industry.

Once graduating (normally even before they graduate) students can find full-time
employment with any of the following firms: Banks, Investment Funds, Stockbrokers,
Central Bank of Malta, MFSA, FIAU, Hedge Funds, Audit firms, such as Deloitte, EY, Grant
Thorton, KPMG, Mazars, PWC, RSM, etc.
