Preparation of an Agenda and Minute Taking and Writing 

Trainer: Ms Eleanor Bezzina – Assistant Registrar - Office of the Registrar
Target Audience: Administrative members of staff  
Duration of Session: 3 hours  

Concept: The aim of this training session is to improve or introduce the skills in drawing up of an agenda and in minute taking and writing of administrative staff involved in Board/Committee meetings.

(i)   Preparation of an Agenda

To draw up an agenda of a Board/Committee meeting, including format of an Agenda, items to be included on the Agenda and sending out the Agenda.


(ii)   Minute taking and writing 

To follow essential steps for record taking during the meeting, this will reflect the writing of the minutes.  This includes using the right words when writing minutes, summarizing the essential points from the items discussed, what was approved or agreed during the meeting and what action is to be taken following the meeting.  The format of the minutes, and the filing and keeping of minutes will also be discussed. 

 

Preparation of an Agenda and Minute Taking and Writing - Follow-up Workshop

Target Audience: Members of staff who have already completed the first session
Duration of Session: 3 hours  

The aim of this workshop is to serve as a follow-up for those members of staff who have already attended for the session 'Preparation of an Agenda and Minute Taking and Writing', in an effort to improve the skills in drawing up of an agenda and in minute taking and writing of administrative staff involved in Board/Committee meetings and to give the opportunity for participants to discuss their difficulties and queries in undertaking these tasks.
