Welcome to the AI Department that has its roots in the early 90's when the first AI research was being conducted at the University of Malta. Today, we offer various short courses, a B.Sc.AI, an M.Sc. AI and a Ph.D. degree which provides specialisations in different areas of AI such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Digital Games, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Robotics, Fintech, Big Data, Creative Technologies, Text Processing, IoT, Data Science, AI in Education, Generative AI, and Computer Vision. Since we believe that AI should be adopted by everyone, we also offer different entry routes into our degrees thus making them flexible to cater for a wider audience.

Studying AI is very exciting at the moment since this area has been chosen by Government as the national priority of the country and it has been earmarked by the European Union as being the backbone of the new economies, which will revolutionise the world, in the coming years. Our B.Sc. AI will also open various avenues after graduation. Students can either decide to further their studies with one of our M.Sc. AI degrees or else they can decide to work in industry.
