Graduates in Earth Systems are ideally placed to pursue careers in the management and planning of activities at the human-nature interface. and bring skills to the job from both the natural and social sciences.
As well as working locally, recent Earth Systems graduates are forging international careers in countries that include the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, the UK, Ethiopia, Argentina, Costa Rica, the USA and Australia.
Graduates are also well-equipped to pursue postgraduate studies locally or abroad in areas including geosciences, biodiversity conservation, marine sciences, water resources management, ecological economics, political ecology, and risk management, among others.
Our alumni have successfully continued their studies at both Master and Ph.D. level in a number of European countries, as well as further afield in Canada and Malaysia. Other Earth Systems alumni have joined research programmes in such far-flung countries as Thailand and Tanzania.
