How to apply

Eligibility

In order to be eligible to participate in the Placements Scheme, you must be registered as a current student with the University of Malta.

Work permit

For employment placements, you will need to have the necessary permits and paperwork in place. If you are an EU national, then permission to work is normally granted automatically. If you are a non-EU national, you may refer to Jobsplus for advice. This is not necessary for non-employment placements.

Application process

If you have already identified a host organisation willing to offer you a placement, please contact the DegreePlus office.

Otherwise, to apply to one of the placements we are advertising, you must first identify a suitable placement by browsing Placement Opportunities. Once you have identified the key placement or placements which you would like to be considered for, click on ‘APPLY’ at the bottom of the opportunity description.

For placements it is up to the host organisation to select the candidate for the post. When you click 'APPLY' an email to the host organisation will be automatically generated with some key information. You may edit the email and should attach a covering letter and CV. Our office is one of the recipients of this email and it is important that you do not change that.

Upon receiving the confirmation email about your placement, you should contact the host organisation to thank them for the opportunity. You and the host organisation will need to put certain documentation in place, depending on the type of placement being offered. Visit the Types of Placements webpage to find out what needs to be put in place for your placement.

You should also read through the FAQs and other useful information which has been provided. If there is something we missed out, or you need any further information contact us.
