The Department of Media, Communications and Technology Law of the Faculty of Laws was established in 2009 within the Faculty of Laws. Its first Head of Department was Professor Kevin Aquilina who came up with the idea of establishing this Department and who served as its head between 2009 and 30 September 2020.
We provide lecturing and research in the newly developed areas of the law that have not been lectured upon prior to the establishment of the MCT Department. These comprise: Broadcasting Law, Press Law, Media Law, Communications Law, Data Protection Law, Gaming Law, Technology Law, Health Care Law, Mental Health and Capacity Law, Arbitration Law, Mediation Law, and the Maltese Legal System.
The Department also hosts a Medicine and the Law Programme.
