Abstract: | The data that has been obtained in recent years on the Copper Age, and in particular on the early phases, provides deeper information on the relationship between Sicily and Malta over that period. This article does not intend to divulge in the problem of adequate terminology with regards to the the Copper Age. Certain links and relationships have been long established between the two islands. These include: connections between incised pottery of S. Cono-Piano Notaro and those painted the first Neolithic Sicilian and the Maltese productions of the facies of Zebbug at the beginning of the Copper Age; substantial detachment of the two geographical areas with regards better documentation of cultural events; and the persistent rapport of artifacts of Sicilian origin attributed to Malta. |
