Abstract: | Many millions of women have used oral contraceptives (OCs) since they became available in the 1960's. There has been a gradual, but significant reduction in both hormonal components which has led to decrease in adverse effects. Like any other medical therapy, the oral contraceptive has both beneficial and adverse effects; thus OCs are contra-indicated in certain individuals. |
