Abstract: | Not everyone agrees that the letter ‘w’ should have a place in the Maltese alphabet. Some scholars believe that it would be better if the letter was removed and instead replaced with ‘u’. In this regard, it is difficult for all scholars come to an agreement as the letters not only have a different sound but are also used in different contexts; we use the letter ‘w’ as a consonant while the letter ‘u’ is used as a vowel. |
