Issue Date: | 2014 |
Abstract: | The aim of this study is to show that Jesus is the Messiah. The prophetic message in the Book of Isaiah is fulfilled only in the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the one true Messiah who will bring liberation to all of humanity. The study takes a closer look at the first eleven chapters of the Prophet Isaiah, and delves deeper into the development of Messianism in Christianity and Judaism, the oracles and the virgin birth. A careful rereading of chapters seven, nine and eleven reveal that through the knowledge we acquire from the New Testament, the Old Testament is a message of expectancy of a deliverer, and this deliverer can be none other than Jesus the Christ. |
