Abstract: | This article refers to the difficulty in translating a poem from a language into another while still keeping the sense, the structure and the rhythm of the poem. He mentions Hexameter (a metrical line of verses) and metre (the basic rhythmic structure of a verse or lines in verse). Mallia Zarb takes as an example classical languages like Greek and Latin, which use a different scheme from the other languages. In this article one can find a Maltese translation of the Latin poem by Virgil, The Aeneid. |
