Abstract: | The issue of mental illness among those committed to a religious cause has for long intrigued psychologists and psychiatrists, pastors and ministers, philosophers and theologians. Various theories have been proposed to explain mental disorders when manifested in "religious" symptoms. These theories give rise to correspondingly different attitudes adopted by those helping the mentally ill. |
