Abstract: There has always been a link between tourism and film and in recent years it has grown bigger. We do not always realize this but sometimes television and films can have a big effect on our decisions and where we decide to travel. This paper will prove that where a production company decides to film will affect the tourism in that area. In this paper I shall uncover the reasons behind these changes in behavior and also point out how film-induced tourism could really benefit a country to help boost tourism. I will show the research carried out on 3 different series, ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Breaking bad’, and ‘Downton Abbey’. Together we will see how the production of these series effected the country they were produced in. Lastly I will conclude by stating how important tourism is to a country and how important it is for Malta to reach out and bring in these film companies to use our Islands.
