| Abstract: | In the Numismatic Chronicle of 1955 there appeared a paper on the "Mint of Malta " in which mention was made of the gold and silver ingots struck in Malta in the year 1799 by General Vaubois, who commanded the Napoleonic troops blockaded in Valletta by the Maltese insurgents. Since the publication of this paper further information has come to light regarding these ingots, and as very little has been written on the subject, the publication of the results of further researches into the matter may not be without interest to students of the period and collectors of obsidional coins in general. |
