The aim of the study is to highlight the lifestyle of pensioners after retirement. This qualitative research analyses how female and male retirees spend their free time. It discusses different attitudes towards retirement. The literature review provides this study with the knowledge concerning retirees in the USA and UK and how they spend the time available to them. In-depth interviews were conducted and all respondents were more than willing to share their experiences with me as the interviewer. This is followed by a discussion of the research findings of four female and four male retirees which formed the sample. The conclusion provides tlie differences and similarities of the female and the male retirees with regards to how they spend their free time after retirement.en_GB
