Abstract: Companies in the manufacturing and service sector continue to merge as they react to market conditions. The reorganisation of operations following such events most of the times also involves a reorganisation of existing teams and changed reporting lines for many employees. This can bring anxiety and loss of trust in the new management. The aim of this study is to describe the takeover process within a private healthcare organisation and the impact that such change can bring. Also, attempts to highlight the positive and negative implications for employees within the organisation that went through such a change. Chapter 3 gives the result of a case study by using the quantitative technique one year after the takeover. This study ends with a number of recommendations for the benefit of the reader.
